Kristine’s manifesto
‘In my choreographic work I have been, and still is concerned about the personal and the private. It is often this that inspires me towards movement and gives me the urge to create a choreography-performance and an expression. I look at my art as a suggestion and reaction to the popular culture of today.’
PILATES UHM
Kristine has training with the recognized physiotherapist Tina Hessel and is certified in the method PILATES UHM. This method is a direction within Pilates that is developed by Tina Hessel. For more specifics on the method you can see here. Level 1 is open for all that take a course of 10 times, and the course fits both beginners and those that have trained Pilates before.
Bio
- is currently producing a solo performance funded by Bergen Kommune, Norsk Kulturråd and Fond for Utøvende Kunstnere, local and state funding authorities for art in Norway.
- has taught professionals and amateurs, as well as choreographed for different projects within contemporary dance, theatre and choir in England, Norway, Japan and Australia.
- is trained as a dancer at the Laban Centre in London and received a Diploma in Dance Theatre after 3 years of schooling. Did one year of dance training at the Ballettakademien in Gothenburg, Sweden when she was 16 years old.
- is currently producing a solo performance funded by Bergen Kommune, Norsk Kulturråd and Fond for Ut;vende Kunstnere, local and state funding authorities for art in Norway.
- has been doing smaller projects during 2006-2007 consisting of outdoor performances and showings of work in informal settings.
- has done choreographic work for Norwegian TV, NRK.
- was invited to create a performance for the International Festival in Bergen 2005 in the Maria Church, together with musician Karstein Askeland.
- has work shopped with Theatre of the Ordinary under the direction of Al Wunder in Melbourne, Australia in 2004.
- was invited as a performer and choreographer for the Dance Card festival the same year, performing a structured improvised work.
- received the prize for best realization of concept during the fringe festival 2002, and was invited to perform during Asia Contemporary Dance Festival in Japan 2003.
- studied choreography at Victorian College of the Arts, Australia 2002 under Don Asker's supervision.
- functioned as the producer, partly choreographer and dancer during the Culture City of Bergen 2000 funded by Bergen Council with the Y-MIS dans co. project.
